Merry Christmas to me a little early!

Ever since the day we moved into this house, 5 years ago, I've been begging to rip out the nasty, stained, embarresing carpet in our dining area and replace it with wood floors. My husband finally caved and gave me an early Christmas this year! He and his dad did a beautiful job! I absolutely love it!

Reason #101 why living out in the country would be a dream!

This is definately by far the boy's favorite past time! They are constantly asking Dad to take them up to the mountains so they can go RIDING! Since that's not always possible, Brandon has turned our yard into a motorcross track. Here they are racing with their cousin Nate. (Kevin came in 1st place of course!) ;) This is Kyle's 1st year riding without training wheels, and he has done awesome! No broken bones yet. It's Kevin's first year riding alone with training wheels. I'm just crossing my fingers they won't get too extreme too quickly!

The boys learned to water ski this year!

I'm not sure if you can call it water skiing or just getting drug behind the boat while holding on for dear life, but both Kyle and Kevin attempted it this year! They are so brave and willing to try anything! (With a little coaxing and bribing from their parents!)

Kyle's 1st season of soccer

This was Kyle's first time playing soccer on a team. He absolutely loved it! I think more than anything he loved the audience he got everytime he played!

The newest addition to the Weekes' family

My neice and her husband (Bonnie and Joel) finally got their baby! They have been trying to have children for 6 years and just 36 hours ago found out they were going to be parents! They adopted a precious little girl from Guatemala. Her name is Katelyn and she is 16 months old. She is so beautiful! Congratulations! We are so thrilled for them, words can't express how excited we all are. And now Kelsey will have a cousin to play with! The next oldest girl on the Weekes' side is 13 years old, until now!

Lake Powell 2008

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

I ran the Ragnar Relay last weekend. It's a 200 mile relay race that went from Logan to Park City. There's 12 people on each team and each person runs 3 different legs. We ran non-stop for 36 hours. I ran with a bunch of nurses that I work with in Labor in Delivery. Our team name was "Team Deliverance." We got a little crazy decorating our vans. One was called the uterbus and the other was the vangina. It was so funny to watch people's reactions as they laughed and pointed their fingers. It was exhausting but we all had a blast doing it!

Fun summer adventures

We went camping with some friends a few weeks ago. I had no idea we would be crossing rivers to get there. Our friends were driving a little 4 door sedan and tried to follow us. They finally ended up stuffing all their belongings on the back of our trailor and ditching their car. This mormon mobile can go anywhere!
Kyle was tearing it up on his motorcycle! He did a great job of keeping up with the gang!

Kyle showed me up! He got stuck less than I did!
Kelsey was a trooper! She finally fell asleep on Brandon's lap after riding for over an hour!

Kyle's preschool graduation

Kyle graduated from preschool last month. Here he is with his "teacher". She is one of the high school students that was involved in the childhood development class. Each student is assigned a little "buddy" who they spend one on one time with teaching their pre-k curriculum. Kyle loved it!
Here's Kelsey doing what she does best. I've started stripping her down before every meal to make my clean up job a lot easier!

My sister was here a few weeks ago with her nice professional camera. She was nice enough to do a photo shoot with us to get some updated pictures of my kids. She did a fabulous job, we actually got a couple that turned out! Kelsey just turned 1, Kevin is 3 (going on 12), and Kyle is 5 and is so excited to start Kindergarten!

We've had a ton of new snow the last few days, so Brandon took the kids sledding with some friends. Here's a play by play of our last sledding experience. ;)

It's a dang good thing this kid is so tough. This is only the 590,375th time that Kevin has smashed his mouth and bruised his teeth. He has definately made us think about investing in some Excellent dental insurance.

This was my favorite Christmas present ever! Brandon has worked so hard at finishing our dreadful kitchen cabinets. What we thought would be a "couple of weeks" project turned into a couple of months! He did such a wonderful job, and they turned out beautiful! (Of course he wouldn't tell you that because he knows where all the tiny mistakes are). He's such a perfectionist and he really did a Perfect job! It's so nice to have my kitchen back!!!!

Christmas morning, 2007

We spent Christmas in Utah with Brandon's family this year. The kids had a blast sleeping over at Grammy and Pop's house and leaving cookies and juice for Santa. Kevin was a little nervous about going to sleep, knowing that Santa (a stranger) was going to be in the house. We had fun watching them open their gifts in the morning. Even Kelsey acted excited!

"Elfing" on Christmas Eve, 2007

Here's all the cousins, ready for a night of "elfing"! It has been the Weekes' tradition to dress up as elves and go with Santa to deliver gifts to the needy. Lots of laughs and good memories!

Kyle, eating a good dinner so he'll have lots of energy to sing loud!

Kevin, a little unsure of what to do in this silly costume.

Kelsey, the youngest (and cutest) elf!

We also love to go caroling at the hospital, where we hope to cheer up the sick who are unable to be home at Christmas.

It's a tight squeeze to try and fit all of Santa's elves in one elevator!

Most of the patients get a kick out of our visits. Our little elves can put out a lot of charm! :)
